Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michael Olawandi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shin Otami!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olawandi swings widly with a right hand
and Otami counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Olawandi is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Otami moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Otami tries to move into range but Olawandi moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Otami engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Olawandi doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Olawandi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Otami controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Olawandi tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Otami's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Olawandi throws a hook but Otami avoids it easily.

Otami wants to counter with a clinch but Olawandi pushes him away.

Olawandi pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Olawandi throws a right and a left that Otami avoids nicely.

Otami scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Olawandi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Otami manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Otami tries to close the distance and clinch up but Olawandi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Olawandi takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Otami unleashes a big counter combination but Olawandi bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Olawandi feints and as Otami raises his hands in defense, Olawandi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Otami is breathing heavily.
Olawandi wants to stand but Otami has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Otami working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Olawandi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Olawandi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Olawandi would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Olawandi decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Otami shoots in looking for a takedown. Olawandi tries to sprawl out of it but Otami keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Olawandi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Olawandi closes the distance and pushes Otami back into the cage.

A frustrated look appears on Otami's face as he tries to break the clinch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Otami lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Otami dives in for a single leg takedown but Olawandi sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Olawandi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Shin Otami seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Come on Otami - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Otami has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Olawandi is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Olawandi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Otami walks away with a smile on his face. Olawandi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Otami is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Otami keeps control of Olawandi as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Otami lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Olawandi tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

and Otami counters with a two punch combo.
Olawandi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Otami as he avoids it easily.
Olawandi throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Otami misses with a takedown attempt - Olawandi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A nice leg kick from Olawandi, right into the meat of the thigh.

and Otami counters with a two punch combo.

And that's the end of the fight!
Shin Otami comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Olawandi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
