Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Erik Thurgood (ranked 2687 p4p, 3713 weight class) and Bronson Vasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 395 weight class). Vasquez has chosen 28 as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thurgood fails with the takedown.

Vasquez avoids a punch combination nicely.
Thurgood misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Vasquez tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Thurgood is trying to drag Vasquez to the mat but Vasquez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Vasquez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thurgood swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Thurgood bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vasquez's guard.
