Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tetsuo Shima (ranked 1031 p4p, 1993 weight class) and Balink Tarlah (ranked 137 p4p, 245 weight class). Shima comes to the cage accompanied by The HU - Yuve Yuve Yu. The key to victory for Tetsuo Shima has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 44 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tetsuo Shima! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 37 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Balink Tarlah! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shima has taken the fight to the clinch.

Tarlah wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Shima prevents the takedown attempt.
Shima keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Tarlah's efforts to push away. Shima lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Shima lands a right hand. Shima is working Tarlah over against the cage. Tarlah tries to score a body lock takedown but Shima shows good agility there to stay on his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tarlah has hold of one of Shima's legs. Shima is fighting the takedown attempt but Tarlah gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Shima looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tarlah is one step ahead there. Tarlah throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tarlah throws a big right hand that misses. Shima wants to stand and escape but Tarlah is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tarlah trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Shima looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Tarlah is fighting to break Shima's control of his arms but Shima is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Shima keeping moving, preventing Tarlah from controlling successfully.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Tarlah walks into a stiff left hand from Shima. Shima lands a lovely overhand right.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shima tests Tarlah's chin there with a solid looking shot. Shima fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Shima lands a head shot. Tetsuo Shima seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tarlah swings for the body but Shima moves out of range.
Shima cracks Tarlah with a good jab. Shima fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tarlah manages to avoid it. Shima tries to close the distance and clinch but Tarlah swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Tarlah tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Tarlah keeps the fight on the outside. Tarlah appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Shima moves in looking to clinch but Tarlah pushes him off. Tarlah is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Shima with a body shot. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shima misses with a short punch on the inside. Tarlah wants the takedown. Shima is fighting it off but Tarlah persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Shima's guard against the cage. Shima pushes Tarlah off and scrambles back to his feet.
Shima looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Shima scores with a nice right hand.
Shima tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tarlah paws at him with a jab and circles away. Tarlah uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shima. Shima throws a series of punches but Tarlah moves out of range. Shima moves into range and clinches up with Tarlah. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shima lands a hook to the side of the head. Shima lands a left hand that snaps the head of Tarlah backwards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tarlah is trying to break the clinch but Shima has him pressed against the cage. Shima scores with a shoulder strike. Shima prevents the takedown attempt.
Tetsuo Shima has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Balink Tarlah. Tarlah breaks the clinch.
Tarlah throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
It looks like Shima has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. Tetsuo Shima is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Shima misses with a two punch combination.
Shima is looking to clinch. Shima throws a series of punches but Tarlah avoids them all with ease. Shima throws a hook but Tarlah avoids it easily. Tarlah is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Shima slaps away a takedown attempt from Tarlah, before circling back to the center of the mat. A punch combination from Shima misses. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tetsuo Shima dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Shima throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Tarlah stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Shima lands a nice hook to Tarlah's body. Tarlah takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Shima throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Shima tries to clinch and Tarlah counters with a straight punch to the midsection. A lazy left from Shima finds it's target. Shima throws a good cross that connects.
Shima wants to clinch and Tarlah counters with a shoot takedown. Shima fights it but they end up in guard. Shima manages to escape and get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action! Tetsuo Shima is winning the standup battle so far. Shima clinches up with Tarlah and pushes him back against the cage. Shima throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Tarlahs head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tarlah tries to circle away but Shima has him pinned against the cage. Stalling in the clinch from Shima.
Shima gets underhooks to prevent Tarlah's takedown attempt.
Tarlah wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Shima has him pressed against the cage. Tarlah working hard to break the clinch. Tarlah is looking for a takedown. Tarlah can't get the takedown.
Tetsuo Shima has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Balink Tarlah. Tarlah has picked Shima up - he's going for a ride! Tarlah dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Shima on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Tarlah thows a huge punch but Shima dodges it nicely.
Shima is looking for a sweep. Tarlah is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Shima is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tarlah's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tarlah's back! Tarlah is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tarlah trying to control but not successfully. Tarlah is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Shima.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Tarlah is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Shima has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tetsuo Shima dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Tarlah takes a jab right on the kisser.
A looping hook to the body misses from Tarlah. Shima does a little dance to reset his feet. Sloppy strikes from Shima. Those never looked like landing. Nice body punch from Shima. Left hook, right uppercut from Shima. Nice sprawl there from Shima as Tarlah shoots in. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tarlah throws a body punch but Shima moves out of range. Shima swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Shima cracks Tarlah with an open hand slap. Shima with a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tarlah ducks right into an uppercut from Shima. A decent looking cross lands there for Shima. Shima swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Shima throws a combination. Tarlah tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Tarlah is rocked! Tarlah throws a wild hook but Shima just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Tarlah gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Shima raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tetsuo Shima! Post fight, Tetsuo Shima took to the microphone: 'Thanks for the chance to become champion, it feels great ,looking forward to my first defense.'.
