PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paul Sanchez (ranked 2672 p4p, 2938 weight class) and Kenny Mason (ranked 242 p4p, 269 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenny Mason!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mason is defended easily by Sanchez.
Sanchez feinted with a counter takedown.
Mason throws a head kick that misses

and Sanchez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Mason wants to sweep here but Sanchez controlling him for the moment.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mason wants to get back to his feet but Sanchez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mason is trying to control the position but Sanchez postures up.

Mason throws a right hand that Sanchez ducks under and follows up with a left that Sanchez also avoids with ease.

Mason is breathing heavily.
Sanchez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mason with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Mason had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sanchez defends it easily.
Sanchez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Mason is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sanchez is aware though and is defending well.

Paul Sanchez was interviewed post fight and said 'Ts a shame that I keep losing, I’ll improve…eventually. Either that or I’ll drown in the waters I bring my opponents in when I win. I’ll see yall.'.
