Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexi Peres (ranked 3819 p4p, 23883 weight class) and Jean Claude Boeuf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jean Claude Boeuf told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alexi Peres!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Claude Boeuf!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boeuf tries to score a power double leg takedown but Peres sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Boeuf somewhat.
Boeuf darts in and clinches Peres up against the cage.
Peres lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Boeuf backwards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peres stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Boeuf manages to break the clinch.
Boeuf goes for a double leg but Peres avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Peres continues to drive forward.

Boeuf lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Peres circles away quickly and effectively.

Boeuf shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Peres sprawls well. Peres wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Boeuf gets slowly back to his feet.
A quick step to the side and Peres tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

A little feinted left hand from Peres on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Boeuf tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Boeuf changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peres tries to avoid it but Boeuf manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peres to the ground. Peres escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Boeuf throws a half hearted mid kick.
Peres was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Alexi Peres is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Boeuf ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Peres moves away.
Peres is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Boeuf doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Peres counters with a nice right hand that sends Boeuf toppling to the canvas! Boeuf scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Peres finish him?!

Boeuf shoots in for a double leg but Peres sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Boeuf seems to have recovered his senses.
Boeuf doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Peres counters with a crisp right hand that drops Boeuf! Peres lets Boeuf back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Peres rattles Boeuf with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Boeuf tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Peres dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Boeuf stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Alexi Peres!
