Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Renaldo Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carter Pewterschmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carter Pewterschmidt! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pewterschmidt uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Machida. Machida just misses with a punch to the body.
Pewterschmidt blocks a jab. Pewterschmidt shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pewterschmidt was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Pewterschmidt takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Machida avoids a series of strikes thrown by Pewterschmidt.

Machida moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Machida takes a body punch but keeps moving. Pewterschmidt closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Carter Pewterschmidt has got the better of the ground game so far.
