Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 45 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corwin Anstey!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hermio Junior!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anstey gets caught flat footed, as Junior shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anstey trying to keep a closed guard but Junior is proving a slippery customer.
Anstey looking for a sweep. Not yet Anstey, not yet.
Junior wants to pass the guard but Anstey is keeping the position.
Junior drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Anstey dives on top into guard.
Anstey avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Anstey landing with the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Junior lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Junior advances position into side control!
Junior wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Anstey, who protects the arm well.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Anstey tries to bench press Junior off him but Junior keeps the position.
Junior has hold of Anstey's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Anstey tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Junior cranks the arm and Anstey screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Anstey, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Hermio Junior!
