Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Mercer (ranked 1641 p4p, 2209 weight class) and Mehdi Kanaani (ranked 162 p4p, 200 weight class). Mercer comes to the cage accompanied by Why Can't We Be Friends by WAR. The crowd seem to be enjoying Kanaani's choice of entrance music: Dr. Dre ft. Snoop Dogg - Nuthin' But A G Thang. Mehdi Kanaani struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Mehdi Kanaani has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mercer throws a big counter combination but Kanaani scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kanaani lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mercer has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mercer and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Mercer dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kanaani. That did some damage!

Mehdi Kanaani's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
