Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Kova Luu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peetu Tam!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luu moves out of range as Tam throws a body kick.
Luu connects with a leg kick.
Luu connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Luu closes the distance and clinches.
Luu lands an elbow just above Tam 's eye.
It looks like Peetu Tam has been cut.
Luu unloads a knee to the mid-section. Tam lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Tam looks winded!
A knee to the head by Luu.
A right handed body shot lands from Luu.
Luu lands an elbow inside that Tam shrugs off.
Luu has his opponent in a tight Thai clinch and unloads with a massive knee that drops Tam to the canvas! Can Tam beat the count? 3,4,5,6 and he's up... is he? Yes, he's up! The referee is taking a long look at him and he's going to allow it to continue!
Tam is rocked!
The cut above Peetu Tam's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Luu lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Tam takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Luu connects with a leg kick.
Luu looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Luu backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Tam's temple! It sends Tam violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Luu celebrates and the doctors try to help Tam!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Kova Luu!
