Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Van Kerckhoven (ranked 110 p4p, 436 weight class) and Bobojo Makoba (ranked 14 p4p, 56 weight class). Van Kerckhoven comes to the cage accompanied by Neo Cortex - Elements (Daniel Cain Remix). Makoba has chosen Zilbacore 2097 as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bobojo Makoba!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Kerckhoven darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
It looks like Bobojo Makoba has been cut.
Van Kerckhoven throws a big shot that misses.
Makoba lands a jab.
Makoba connects with a solid leg kick.
Van Kerckhoven slips under a jab.
Van Kerckhoven jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Makoba clinches up with Van Kerckhoven and pushes him back against the cage.
Makoba prevents a body shot from Van Kerckhoven.
Makoba lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Van Kerckhoven pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Van Kerckhoven closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

and Van Kerckhoven counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Makoba bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Van Kerckhoven's head.

Van Kerckhoven chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Makoba can pounce on him.
Makoba misses the jab.
Makoba darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Makoba swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Van Kerckhoven cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Van Kerckhoven connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Makoba scores with a kick to the body.
Makoba closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Van Kerckhoven crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Makoba - the referee stops the clock and Van Kerckhoven gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Makoba. Van Kerckhoven manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

It appears Van Kerckhoven was looking to counter with a kick there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Makoba throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Van Kerckhoven on the side of the head.

Van Kerckhoven gets through Makoba's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Makoba tries to work over Van Kerckhoven's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Makoba has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

That has opened up Bobojo Makoba's cut even more.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Bobojo Makoba will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Van Kerckhoven counters with a crisp one two that drops Makoba! Van Kerckhoven thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Makoba to his feet! Makoba is in big trouble!
Makoba wants to clinch but Van Kerckhoven slips to the side
and Van Kerckhoven counters with a huge left! Makoba is in big trouble! He's backing up but Van Kerckhoven isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Makoba from any more damage. A dominating finish by Van Kerckhoven!
