Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Jacobson (ranked 2061 p4p, 2255 weight class) and Jon Miocic (ranked 244 p4p, 264 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Miocic's choice of entrance music: God Gave Me Style - 50 Cent. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marshall Jacobson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Miocic! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miocic shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Miocic takes a swing at Jacobson's ribcage but misses. Miocic misses with a hook. Miocic walks into a stiff left hand from Jacobson. We've been told by Jacobson's head coaches at Slobos Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Jacobson throws a looping overhand right but Miocic ducks down to avoid it. Nice sprawl there from Jacobson as Miocic shoots in. Jacobson scores with a jab. Miocic acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Jacobson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Miocic on the side of the head. Miocic has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Miocic moves into the clinch successfully.

Miocic tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jacobson just stands there and leans against the cage. Jacobson manages to break the clinch.
Jacobson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
It looks like Marshall Jacobson has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Miocic looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jacobson is fending him off so far but Miocic persists. Nope, Jacobson circles away and we're back to standing. Marshall Jacobson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Miocic. That's one minute gone in the round. Miocic avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jacobson jabbing away but nothing is landing. Miocic swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Jacobson tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Miocic manages to circle out of the way. Jacobson slaps away a takedown attempt from Miocic, before circling back to the center of the mat. Miocic rushes Jacobson and presses him up against the cage. Miocic fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Miocic has picked Jacobson up - he's going for a ride! Miocic dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Jacobson tries to get to full guard but Miocic has control of the leg. Miocic not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miocic working the head and body with strikes. Miocic thows a huge punch but Jacobson dodges it nicely.
Ground and pound from Miocic. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jacobson is looking to control Miocic's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jacobson avoid being mounted? Miocic is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jacobson sees it coming and defends easily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Miocic wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jacobson keeps working. Miocic trying to pass the guard but Jacobson defending well. Miocic is trying to control the action in half guard but Jacobson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miocic is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Miocic trying to control the action but Jacobson is working from the bottom. Miocic has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Miocic is working for a kimura but Jacobson is defending it quite comfortably.
Miocic is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jacobson is just riding it out for now. Miocic eventually gives up the hold. Jacobson is trying to maintain the position but Miocic is very close to passing his half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Miocic thows a huge punch but Jacobson dodges it nicely.
Miocic prevents Jacobson from improving his position. Miocic is nestled in close to Jacobson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Miocic is keen to just control but Jacobson is a slippery customer. Miocic thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Jacobson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Miocic on the ground. Miocic maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Jacobson could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Miocic has cracked it and Jacobson is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Miocic!
