Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Salter JR (ranked 3585 p4p, 3507 weight class) and Aaron Lyle (ranked 308 p4p, 305 weight class). Aaron Lyle has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Salter JR's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Salter JR! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aaron Lyle! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big right from Lyle misses. JR defending well as Lyle loads up on a big left hand. Lyle throws an uppercut from half a mile away. JR sees it coming and avoids it easily. JR tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Lyle misses with a left hand and JR counters with a lovely straight right hand! JR forces Lyle back against the cage and clinches. Lyle's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. JR has a couple of punches blocked by Lyle.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Lyle creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. JR changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lyle fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Lyle lands a glancing blow to the side of JR's head. JR has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Grapple in the buildup to the fight. JR closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. JR not landing any meaningful shots this time. JR moves nicely into side control. JR grinds an elbow into Lyle's temple. JR cracks Lyle with an elbow. That is naaassty. JR looks up at the clock and then as Lyle takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, JR smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
JR has an Americana. Lyle didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! JR is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if JR hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Salter JR!
