Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kai Chen (ranked 1542 p4p, 1380 weight class) and Oliver Kolar (ranked 141 p4p, 122 weight class). Oliver Kolar has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Kai Chen's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kai Chen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Oliver Kolar! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chen looks to land a combination but Kolar avoids it well. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kolar! But no joy. Chen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kolar shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Chen gets caught flat footed, as Kolar shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Kolar throws a big elbow that misses. Kolar slips nicely into half guard. Chen is staying active underneath Kolar, who seems content to just control the action from this position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kolar is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Kolar passes to side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kolar cracks Chen with a big elbow. Kolar working away. Chen tries to buck Kolar off but Kolar is having none of it.

Chen is trying to control Kolar's posture but Kolar avoids it. Chen takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kolar lands an elbow. Kolar sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Chen is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Chen is rocked! Kolar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chen keeps working. Oh Chen is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Chen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kolar's best efforts. Chen seems to have got his legs back now. Chen is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kolar pulls his head out easily. Kolar sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chen is looking to control Kolar's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chen avoid being mounted? Chen tries to get to full guard but Kolar has control of the leg. Kolar stalling. Kolar looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Kolar trying to mount his opponent but Chen defends it. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chen is looking for a sweep. Kolar is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Chen works his way to full guard. Good work. Kolar is pushing down on Chen's leg trying to pass to half guard. Chen is fighting to maintain full guard but Kolar has managed to sneak the leg through. Kolar lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Kolar is working for a submission of some sort.
Kolar scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Kolar moves nicely into side control. Chen can't do much from the bottom here. Kolar looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Chen manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kolar moves nicely into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kolar is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Chen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kolar wants to control but Chen is keeping him busy. Chen tries to buck Kolar off but Kolar is having none of it. Kolar lands a few punches from side control. Kolar lands a nice forearm strike. Chen struggling a bit here. Kolar cracks Chen with a big right hand but Chen just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Oliver Kolar dominated that round. That's time! Chen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Chen scores with a body shot.

and Kolar counters with a straight right hand. Chen thows a left - swing and a miss! Kolar avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Chen takes a shot right to the bread basket. Kolar throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chen sees it coming and avoids it easily. Chen connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Nice sprawl there from Chen as Kolar shoots in. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chen wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. A lazy left from Chen finds it's target. Chen scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Nice takedown defense from Chen. No joy for Kolar on that attempt. Chen drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kolar sprawls and moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chen leaves Kolar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kai Chen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oliver Kolar. Chen scores with a shot to the body.
Chen throws a big shot that misses. Kolar moves into the clinch successfully.
Kolar gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Chen regains guard.
Kolar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Chen throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Kolar has been the more effective fighter overall so far. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chen is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Chen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kolar is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Chen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Chen passes Kolar's left leg - he's now in half guard. Kolar is not content to let Chen control the position. Chen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kolar is not content to let Chen control the position. Chen in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Kolar tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Chen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kai Chen! Kai Chen tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
