Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Francois Bourbon (ranked 4879 p4p, 3850 weight class) and Finley Marks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Finley Marks has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Francois Bourbon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Finley Marks! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bourbon drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Marks is wriggling around but Bourbon manages to pass to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Marks is trying to get back to full guard. Bourbon is working for a submission of some sort.
Bourbon stalling. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marks tries to get to full guard but Bourbon has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marks works his way to full guard. Good work. Bourbon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Bourbon looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Bourbon content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Marks has a closed guard, preventing Bourbon from standing up. Bourbon sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Marks is looking to stand up but Bourbon isn't so interested in that idea. Bourbon engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Marks trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Marks trying to strike off his back.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Bourbon fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Marks to the ground. Bourbon is now in Marks's guard. Marks throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Bourbon works a leg free and moves into half guard. Bourbon content to control rather than advance. The fighters are battling for position here. Marks manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Bourbon lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Bourbon sitting in guard, not really doing much. Bourbon in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bourbon with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Marks controlling the position. Bourbon sitting in guard here, content to control. Bourbon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Marks for as long as he can get away with. Bourbon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bourbon stands up over Marks, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Francois Bourbon dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Marks gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Bourbon counters with a shoot takedown. Marks fights it but they end up in guard. Bourbon content to stall in guard here. Bourbon cracks Marks with a solid left hand. Bourbon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bourbon scoring with some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bourbon is working Marks over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Bourbon is stalling in the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bourbon wants to stand but Marks has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Marks wants to sweep here but Bourbon controlling him for the moment. Bourbon controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Bourbon advances to half guard. Marks gets back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Bourbon has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Marks is proving hard to escape from. Bourbon wants to pass the guard but Marks is keeping the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Bourbon blocks a head kick by Marks.
Marks jabs Bourbon to the body, keeping him at a distance. A head kick misses from Bourbon. Bourbon throws a head kick but Marks moves out of range.
Marks tries to counter by closing the distance. Bourbon throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Bourbon. Marks is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bourbon shoots in for a double leg but Marks sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Marks will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Bourbon went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Bourbon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Marks avoids it really well and circles away. Bourbon dives in and scores a takedown into Marks's guard. Marks kicks Bourbon off and gets to his feet. Bourbon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Marks can do to turn this around? Marks throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bourbon's waist but Bourbon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Marks off to one side. Francois Bourbon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Finley Marks. Bourbon closes the distance and clinches. Bourbon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marks is looking to score with low kicks. Marks connects with a body shot that sends Bourbon's belly button to the back. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bourbon doesn't succeed with the takedown and Marks counters with a three punch combo that has Bourbon backing up. Bourbon nods at Marks to acknowledge the strikes. Marks lands a jab-cross combination. Marks tries for a takedown but Bourbon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Some wild striking there from Bourbon.
Bourbon gets the takedown into side control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Francois Bourbon will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! Marks darts in trying to clinch so Bourbon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Bourbon is stalling in the full guard. Bourbon wants to stand but Marks is controlling his posture from full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marks being controlled here, momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marks is trying to control the position but Bourbon postures up. Marks wants to sweep but no luck. Bourbon controls from within his opponent's guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Bourbon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Marks is keeping the position for now.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bourbon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marks swivels and escapes. Marks dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bourbon. That did some damage!

Marks is trying to break free. Bourbon has Marks pressed against the cage, preventing Marks from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Bourbon holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Marks is trying to pull guard but Bourbon turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Bourbon breaks from the clinch.
Bourbon shoots for a takedown but Marks saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Marks displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bourbon. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Francois Bourbon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marks shoots for a takedown but Bourbon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bourbon fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Marks tries to clinch up but Bourbon circles away and keeps his distance. Marks closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Marks lands in his opponent's guard. Bourbon is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Marks slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bourbon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Marks is controlling him. Bourbon wants to hit a sweep here but Marks passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Bourbon there! Bourbon is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Marks unloading with bombs! Finley Marks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Francois Bourbon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bourbon is trying to escape the mount.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Finley Marks. I think Bourbon has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
