Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ahi Esta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Detective Tequila!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tequila closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Esta gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Tequila.
Tequila wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Tequila tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Esta smiles and moves away.
Ahi Esta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tequila throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tequila shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Esta but Esta pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ahi Esta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Detective Tequila.
Tequila scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Tequila is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Esta is just riding it out for now. Tequila eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Esta manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Tequila sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Esta fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Tequila checks it well.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Esta lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Tequila has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Tequila and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Esta has his takedown stuffed
and Tequila counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Esta tries to get to full guard but Tequila has control of the leg.
Esta is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Tequila seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Esta does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tequila accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Esta wants to sweep here but Tequila controlling him for the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tequila thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Esta's head.
Esta has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tequila is working away from the top position though.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tequila is on top in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tequila changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Esta looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Esta knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tequila on the ground.

Tequila postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ahi Esta will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Tequila feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Tequila shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Esta's guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ahi Esta.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Esta, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
