Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tommy Davies!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ciao Souza!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davies lands with a kick to the ribs.
Souza forces Davies back against the cage and clinches.
Souza's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Souza tries to close the distance and clinch up but Davies swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Souza drives through with a takedown into Davies's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Souza stands and throws Davies's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Souza working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Davies wants to control but Souza postures up.
Davies is looking to reverse the position.
Davies is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Souza is controlling him well.
Souza controls the position.

Souza misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Souza gets to mount! Davies was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Souza jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Davies is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Davies and Souza has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

A lull in the action here as Souza stalls from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davies is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Davies is letting Souza control him for a moment.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Davies is pushing Souza's head away, looking to escape. Souza manages to hold on to the position though.

Souza is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Davies is trying to escape and Souza transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Davies is forced to tap! Nice work there by Souza! Very nice indeed!
