Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Cap tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Standish has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cap gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Cap tries to hold on but Standish pushes him away. Cap felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Standish tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Cap can't escape the position.

That's ten minutes gone in the round. Cap won't allow Standish to pass to mount. Standish controlling the action here. Standish tries to pass to full mount but Cap defends it. Cap regains full guard. Nicely done. Cap has his hands on Standish's head, controlling the position. Cap looking to hit a scissor sweep but Standish is one step ahead there.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Standish slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Cap is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Cap looking to control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Standish is positioning himself well to prevent Cap advancing to mount. Standish is refusing to be controlled, as Cap sits in half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cap is looking to advance position but Standish won't allow it.
