This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 18 wins and 6 losses; John Snake! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Snake gets in close and instigates a clinch. Snake tries for a takedown but Cardosi manages to get underhooks.
Cardosi is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Snake gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Cardosi tries to score a body lock takedown but Snake shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Snake tightens his grip and picks Cardosi up, before dumping him to the ground. Cardosi manages to land in guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Cardosi (0) vs (2) Snake Cardosi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Snake wants to control from the top but Cardosi keeps moving. Snake tries to reverse the position but Cardosi maintains control. Snake keeps trying to improve his position. Cardosi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Snake is looking to escape. Cardosi looking to control and managing it successfully.

Both fighters are looking very determined. Snake tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Cardosi jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Snake is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Snake and Cardosi has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cardosi is cranking Snake's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Snake! He's tightened the choke and Snake is tapping out!
