The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Ribeiro decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kline keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Kline felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kline moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kline is pulling down on Ribeiro's head to control his posture. Ribeiro sitting in guard, not really doing much. Kline keeping moving, preventing Ribeiro from controlling successfully. Ribeiro preventing the sweep. Ribeiro is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Ribeiro working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Kline has passed into half guard!

Kline working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Ribeiro manages to get back to half guard. Kline is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kline is stalling here. Ribeiro is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kline seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Ribeiro has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Kline manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Ribeiro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kline does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Kline moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kline pushes a forearm under Ribeiro's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ribeiro is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
