Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hamish Farquharson (ranked 2350 p4p, 1543 weight class) and Rivo Niskanen (ranked 258 p4p, 174 weight class). Hamish Farquharson had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 186.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hamish Farquharson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rivo Niskanen!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Darius Henderson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farquharson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Niskanen as he avoids it easily.
Farquharson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Niskanen but Niskanen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Farquharson gets a double leg takedown into Niskanen's guard.
Farquharson stops Niskanen from standing up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Niskanen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Farquharson is controlling him.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Farquharson goes for a double leg but Niskanen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Niskanen continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hamish Farquharson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Niskanen tries a body shot but Farquharson blocks it.
Niskanen stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Niskanen throws a punch but it's blocked by Farquharson.
Farquharson blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Farquharson fails to pull guard.
Farquharson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Niskanen just stands there and leans against the cage.
Farquharson goes for a takedown attempt but Niskanen pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Farquharson takes one on the button.
Farquharson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Despite the aggression on Niskanen's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Farquharson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Niskanen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Niskanen was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Niskanen rushes Farquharson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Niskanen misses with the head strike.

Niskanen prevents the takedown attempt.
Farquharson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Niskanen stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Farquharson is breathing heavily.
Farquharson blocks an uppercut.
Niskanen pushes Farquharson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Niskanen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Farquharson.
Niskanen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Farquharson misses with a takedown
and Niskanen counters with a stiff right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Niskanen rushes Farquharson with punches - Farquharson moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Farquharson goes down! Niskanen follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rivo Niskanen!
After winning the bout, Rivo Niskanen thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
