Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Calvin Cannon (ranked 2143 p4p, 3857 weight class) and Brian Hooi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brian Hooi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Calvin Cannon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brian Hooi! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hooi gets the takedown into side control. Hooi has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Cannon lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Cannon definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Hooi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hooi clinches up against the cage. Cannon working some nice short punches in the clinch. Cannon manages to pull guard.
Hooi gets to his feet. Cannon looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Wow, both these guys are really going for it! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hooi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cannon's guard. Hooi gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Hooi gets a clinch. Cannon blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Cannon lands with a short punch from the clinch.
A body shot lands from Cannon.
Hooi can't break the clinch.
Hooi tries to circle away but Cannon has him pinned against the cage. Cannon misses with some punches.
Hooi jumps into guard, dragging Cannon to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hooi keeping moving, preventing Cannon from controlling successfully. Hooi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cannon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hooi wants to stand up but Cannon is controlling him. Hooi wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Cannon manages to pass to side control. Hooi wants to get back to his feet.
Hooi is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Cannon has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Hooi is tapping! This fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Calvin Cannon!
