Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Sean Baker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alessandro Padrilo!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Padrilo tries to avoid it but Baker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Padrilo to the ground. Padrilo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Padrilo catches Baker with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Padrilo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Padrilo lands in his opponent's guard.
Baker keeping moving, preventing Padrilo from controlling successfully.
Padrilo advances position into side control!
Padrilo fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Padrilo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Padrilo landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Baker wants to control but Padrilo postures up.
Baker is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Padrilo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Baker has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Baker is not content to let Padrilo control the position.
Baker prevents Padrilo from moving into mount.
Padrilo has an Americana. Baker didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Padrilo is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Padrilo hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Alessandro Padrilo!
