Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trent Bash (ranked 24054 p4p, 4315 weight class) and Walter Conway (ranked 519 p4p, 411 weight class). Trent Bash has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trent Bash! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Walter Conway! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Nice sprawl there from Conway as Bash shoots in. Conway tries to counter with a clinch but Bash shakes him off and moves away. Bash shoots in for a takedown but Conway shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Conway steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Bash. Bash tries to score a power double leg takedown but Conway sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bash somewhat. Conway steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Bash. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trent Bash. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Conway slaps away a takedown attempt from Bash, before circling back to the center of the mat. Conway wants to counter with a clinch but Bash pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bash is trying hard to land a takedown here. Conway sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Bash shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Conway defends it nicely. Bash with a lazy takedown attempt and Conway counters by clinching up. Conway gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Conway thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Bash working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Conway has passed into half guard!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bash looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Conway wants to work for an arm triangle but Bash is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Bash is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bash looking for submissions off his back. Bash really is a fat lump. Bash actively working from the bottom here. Conway is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bash looking for subs from the bottom but Conway mounts him! Conway working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Bash tries to get back to half guard but can't. Bash tries to improve his position but Conway has taken his back! Conway has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Bash tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Conway pushes Bash away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
