This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 17 wins and 20 losses; Trace Mack! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Mack shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Okoroji's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Okoroji (0) vs (2) Mack Mack wants to control from the top but Okoroji keeps moving. Mack drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Okoroji manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mack has Okoroji in his guard. Okoroji might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Mack is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mack wants to lay and pray for a moment but Okoroji keeps working. Okoroji manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Okoroji tries to get to full guard but Mack has control of the leg. Mack seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Okoroji does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Okoroji is controlling Mack's position as best he can from this difficult position. Mack is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Okoroji sees it coming and defends easily. Okoroji regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Mack trying to control the position from guard on top but Okoroji is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Okoroji has his foot on Mack's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mack works his way back into a safe position though. Okoroji seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Okoroji controls Mack momentarily but Mack frees himself. Mack looking to sit in guard and control but Okoroji gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
