Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kai Asakura (ranked 1787 p4p, 1557 weight class) and Kona Kush (ranked 119 p4p, 111 weight class). Kush has chosen Sunny Hours/ Long Beach Dub Allstars as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kai Asakura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kona Kush! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kush sizes up Asakura with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Kush throws a nice looking combination but Asakura bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kush lands a head shot. Kush will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kush throws a series of punches but Asakura avoids them all with ease. Asakura swings widly with a right hand
and Kush counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Kush slips a jab from Asakura. Kush appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. The fighters circle momentarily. Kush darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Asakura takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Asakura pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A little jabbing left from Kush on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Asakura scores with a hook. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kush scores with a jab. Asakura misses with a right hand and Kush counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Kush misses with a series of wild punches.
Asakura throws a series of punches but Kush avoids them all with ease. A jab from Kush does it's job there. Asakura takes a swing at Kush's ribcage but misses.

A jab from Kush misses. Kush has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Kush uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Asakura.
Kush let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Kush punishes Asakura's body with a nice straight punch. Asakura lands with a nice combination. Kush backs away looking to recover. A big left from Kush misses. Asakura doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Asakura swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kush counters with a left to the body. Kush lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Asakura lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kush circles away quickly and effectively. Kush with a nice cross. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Asakura with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kush to score with a decent uppercut. Asakura misses with a two punch combination.
Kush lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Kush drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Asakura avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kush.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kush advances to full mount. Kush sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Asakura tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kush looking to finish Asakura with some ground and pound. This is bad for Asakura! Kush has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kush scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Asakura looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Asakura is in a horrible position here. Kush smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kush lands shots from the back. Kush is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Kush is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Asakura has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Kush has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Asakura taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Kush doesn't care though - he's delighted!
