Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wulong Li!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Herbert Merill!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li takes a jab right on the kisser.
Merill misses with a combination
and Li decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Merill's guard.
Li pushes down on Merill's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Li is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Li slips a nice elbow through Merill's hands, connecting with Merill's forehead.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Merill pushes Li off but Li dives into side control.
Merill wants to get back to his feet.
Li advances to full mount.
Merill bucks up and throws Li to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Li is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Merill's half guard.

Li content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Merill pushes Li off looking to stand but Li dives back in and keeps control.
Li is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Li lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Li seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Merill is rocked!
Well, if Li is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Merill is still in real trouble! Can Li finish him?
Li takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Li drops an elbow to the side of Merill's head.

Li is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Li sitting in half guard here. He lands a big elbow that has hurt Merill! Oh, Merill is in big trouble! Li lands more strikes and the ref dives in to save him! The fight is over!
