Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Menes Kai (ranked 807 p4p, 1206 weight class) and Wally Kruschev (ranked 85 p4p, 122 weight class). Kai comes to the cage accompanied by The Astronaut - Jin. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Menes Kai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wally Kruschev!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kruschev shoots in but no luck this time.
Kai throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kruschev stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Kruschev uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kai.
Kruschev misses with a wild body shot.
Kai throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kruschev moves in looking to clinch but Kai pushes him off.
Kai throws out a loose jab but Kruschev uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kruschev closes the distance and pushes Kai back into the cage.
Kai is trying to break the clinch but Kruschev is controlling him.
Kruschev swings wildly with an uppercut but Kai uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kruschev jumps guard but Kai turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kai lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kruschev backwards.
Kai has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Kai feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kruschevs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
We've been informed that Kruschev has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Kai works Kruschev's body with a nice hook.
Kruschev fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kai lands with an overhand left.
Kai connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Kai takes a swing at Kruschev's ribcage but misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kruschev wants to clinch up but Kai keeps it at a distance.
Kai throws a body punch but Kruschev moves out of range.
Oooooh!!! Kai has knocked Kruschev down with a huge combo! Kai steps away and waves a wobbly Kruschev back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Kruschev is rocked!

Kruschev looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kai misses with a double jab.
Kruschev uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kai.
Kai ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
The crowd cheers as Kai lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kruschev doesn't seem phased though.
Kai lands a head shot.
Kai ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kruschev moves away.
No luck for Kruschev with that takedown attempt.
Kai connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Kruschev drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Kai manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Kruschev wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kai breaks from the clinch.

Kai is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Kai lands with an overhand left.

Kai misses with a double jab
and Kruschev counters with a left and a right that stings Kai.
Kruschev moves in looking to clinch but Kai pushes him off.
Kruschev fails with a takedown attempt.
Kai catches Kruschev with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kruschev goes for a double leg but Kai avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kai continues to drive forward.
Kai was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Kai throws a shot to the body.
Kai bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kruschev's head backwards.
Kruschev misses with a jab to the body
and Kai counters with a nice right hand that sends Kruschev toppling to the canvas! Kruschev scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Kai finish him?!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Menes Kai dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Kai's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kruschev under the eye.
Kruschev is still on wobbly legs! Can Kai finish him?
Menes Kai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kruschev looks up at the clock. Bad move! Kai lands a right hand from hell, dropping Kruschev. Kai pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Menes Kai!
A relieved looking Menes Kai thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
