Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Makarov gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kim turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Kim (4) vs (0) Makarov Makarov is not content to let Kim control the position. Makarov tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kim wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Kim is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Makarov will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Kim definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Makarov tries to improve position but can't. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Makarov stuck in half guard on the bottom here. Kim happy to just control the position for now.

Kim controls the action. Makarov just trying to survive but Kim is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Kim slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Makarov trying to control the hands but Kim breaks the grip. Kim has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Makarov's body.

That's six minutes gone in the round. Kim gets his hands free as Makarov looks to control. Kim looking for the choke but no joy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Makarov is trying to break free.
We've been informed that Makarov has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Makarov just trying to survive but Kim is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Makarov looking very determined here, making life difficult for Kim.

That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Makarov prevents Kim from improving his position. Makarov is taking a breather. Kim says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Kim trying to control but Makarov postures up.
