The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortega throws a one two combo.
Matheus checks a leg kick.
Ortega scores with a leg kick.
Ortega looks to land a combination but Matheus avoids it well.
Ortega fails to land with a series of punches.
Matheus shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Matheus was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Matheus wants to finish this one by submission but Ortega is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Matheus.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ortega tries to lock up and control but Matheus gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Ortega tries to buck Matheus off but he can't manage it.
Matheus moves to the back.
Matheus is cranking Ortega's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Ortega! He's tightened the choke and Ortega is tapping out!
