Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Rayson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby Rayson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joseph Steele!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rayson is looking to clinch.
Rayson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Steele but Steele pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Rayson has taken the fight to the clinch.

Steele tightens his grip and picks Rayson up, before dumping him to the ground. Rayson manages to land in guard.

Steele decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Steele should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Rayson.
Steele tries to escape but Rayson is in control.

Rayson tries for a kimura but Steele is defending well.
Rayson takes a little break here. Steele wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Steele is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Rayson off and has taken his back!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Steele gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Steele lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Rayson hold on?!

Rayson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Steele's guard. Nice work there by Rayson.
Steele lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rayson!
Rayson wants to try and get back to his feet.

Rayson gets back to half guard.
Rayson tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Rayson works his way to full guard. Good work.

Steele avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rayson is on top in guard.
Rayson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Rayson gets to his feet - Steele follows without any prompting.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Joseph Steele will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Rayson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Steele wants to control but Rayson is having none of it.
Steele is looking to get to half guard.

Rayson stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Nice sprawl there from Steele as Rayson shoots in.
Horrible takedown by Rayson or perhaps it was just good defense by Steele which made him look bad.
Rayson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steele circles away.

Steele wants to clinch but Rayson slips to the side
and Rayson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Bobby Rayson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rayson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Steele avoids the head kick by Rayson.
Steele rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Rayson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Rayson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Rayson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Steele is looking to get back to full guard here but Rayson has managed to pass to side control instead.
Steele seems to have recovered his senses.
Rayson sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Rayson working the ground and pound effectively.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rayson is landing with some decent strikes but Steele is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Rayson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Rayson stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Rayson throws a nice inside leg kick.

Rayson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Steele, pushing him back against the cage.
Rayson fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Rayson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Steele smiles and moves away.
Rayson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Steele is fending him off so far but Rayson persists. Nope, Steele circles away and we're back to standing.
Steele lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Steele closes the distance and clinches.

Steele manages to break the clinch.

and Rayson counters with a shoot takedown. Steele fights it but they end up in guard.
Steele is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Rayson wants to stand but Steele is controlling his posture from full guard.

Steele manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Steele throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Steele is pressed up against the cage. Rayson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Steele down to the mat. Steele avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Joseph Steele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rayson falls off balance throwing a combination

and Steele counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Steele.

Rayson breaks from the clinch.

Rayson clinches with his opponent.
Steele with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Steele can't break the clinch.
Rayson tries to pull guard but Steele won't allow it.
Steele tries to stall but Rayson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
A nice right hand lands inside from Rayson.

Rayson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Whack! Rayson lands a heavy head kick that drops Steele. The ref tackles Rayson to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Steele was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Bobby Rayson!
