Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Massif Headingery (ranked 3410 p4p, 4751 weight class) and Kody Ruiz (ranked 377 p4p, 451 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Massif Headingery! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kody Ruiz! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruiz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Headingery wants to sweep here but Ruiz controlling him for the moment. Ruiz with a nice head shot there. Ruiz landing with the ground and pound. Headingery working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ruiz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ruiz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Headingery looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ruiz is one step ahead there. Ruiz scores with a decent looking elbow strike. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Headingery is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ruiz is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Headingery looking for a sweep. And that's the end of the fight! Kody Ruiz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ruiz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
