PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sehanine Moonbow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and charles white (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sehanine Moonbow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, charles white!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
white slips a jab and a cross from Moonbow.
white throws a nice looking combination but Moonbow bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A left and a right from Moonbow both land. Nice combination.
white misses with a takedown attempt - Moonbow sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Moonbow tries to close the distance and clinch but white swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
white fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Moonbow manages to avoid it.

white swats away the attempt to clinch by Moonbow.
Moonbow lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
white avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and white counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
white looking to sit in guard and control but Moonbow gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Moonbow is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Moonbow seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down white for as long as he can get away with.
white is trying to control the position but Moonbow postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Moonbow wants to control from the top but white keeps moving.

white looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
white keeping moving, preventing Moonbow from controlling successfully.
Moonbow pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. white is keeping the position for now.

white looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Moonbow sitting in guard, not really doing much.

white working for a triangle but Moonbow defends it easily.
Moonbow wants to control from the top but white keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

white is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Moonbow is aware though and is defending well.
Moonbow trying to control but white is working from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Moonbow accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Moonbow avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Moonbow has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of white is proving hard to escape from.

white has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Moonbow can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Moonbow wants to control from the top but white keeps moving.
Moonbow wants to stand but white is controlling his posture from full guard.
Moonbow is breathing heavily.
white bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Moonbow's guard.
white wants to pass the guard but Moonbow is keeping the position.

white is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Moonbow is pulling down on white's head. It's preventing any offense from white, at least for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Sehanine Moonbow just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

white shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
white looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Moonbow tries to get to full guard but white has control of the leg.

white is looking for a kimura but Moonbow is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for white to get the leverage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

charles white dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Moonbow leaves white with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Moonbow misses with a low kick.

white feints and as Moonbow raises his hands in defense, white changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
white trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
white won't allow Moonbow to get back to his feet.
white is looking to work some ground and pound but Moonbow has wrist control.
Moonbow keeping moving, preventing white from controlling successfully.
white wants to pass the guard but Moonbow is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
white wants to control from the top but Moonbow keeps moving.
white won't allow Moonbow to sweep him here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
white postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Moonbow throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
white showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Moonbow.
white darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
white fails with a takedown attempt.
Moonbow swings and misses with a shot to the body

and white counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
white works his way into side control.
white lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

white tries for a kimura but Moonbow is defending well.
Moonbow sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
charles white has got the better of the ground game so far.
Moonbow wants to get back to full guard.
white trying to mount his opponent but Moonbow defends it.

white in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Moonbow tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from white!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). charles white!
