Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xander Scott (ranked 2672 p4p, 4148 weight class) and Tripp Summers (ranked 313 p4p, 422 weight class). Scott comes into the arena with I DON'T GIVE A FUCK blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Summers ducks under a wild hook from Scott.

and Scott counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Scott has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Summers misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Summers throws a leg kick that is checked
and Scott counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Tripp Summers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scott misses with a lunging right hand
and Summers counters with a body kick that stops Scott in his tracks momentarily.
A solid leg kick lands there for Summers.
Summers misses with an attempted mid kick.

Scott tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Summers just stands there and leans against the cage.

Summers doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Scott tries to pull guard but Summers forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Scott throws a punch but it's blocked by Summers.
Scott lands a hook to the side of the head.
Summers is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Scott is keeping busy.

Scott can't find room to land a body shot as Summers controls the action.

Scott tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Summers smiles and moves away.

Scott tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Summers's elbow.

Scott tries to pull guard but Summers holds him up against the cage and eventually Scott drops back down to his feet.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Summers trying to control the position but instead, Scott has worked for underhooks and has pushed Summers into the cage.
Summers is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage.
Scott swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Scott prevents a body shot from Summers.
Scott lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Scott tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Summers.

Summers blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Scott jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Summers walks away with a smile on his face. Scott gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Summers misses with a kick to the body.

Summers walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Scott throws a lazy uppercut
and Summers counters with a thumping low kick.
Summers throws a head kick but Scott moves out of range.
Scott takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Scott is breathing heavily.
Scott misses with a hook.
Scott backing away here, and Summers unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Summers pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Summers wants to slow Scott down by chopping away at his legs.
Summers thumps Scott with a low kick.
Summers moves away from the strike by Scott.
Scott fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Summers manages to avoid it.

Scott clinches.
Scott tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Summers.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Summers working aggressively here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Scott manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Summers has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Scott to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Summers is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Scott pulls down on the head and he's put Summers to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Xander Scott!
Xander Scott decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
