The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seadragon takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

We've been told by Jonatas's head coaches at Banzai Combat Academy LA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Seadragon swings for the body but Jonatas moves out of range.

Mauro Jonatas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Jonatas counters with a three punch combo that has Seadragon backing up. Seadragon nods at Jonatas to acknowledge the strikes.

Jonatas uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Seadragon has time to react.

It looked like Jonatas was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Jonatas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Seadragon manages to avoid it.

Jonatas scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Jonatas throws a hook but Seadragon blocks it.

and Seadragon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jonatas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Seadragon looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Seadragon lunges at Jonatas with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jonatas's hand.
Oh Jonatas is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Seadragon fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Seadragon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
An attempted straight right counter from Jonatas misses the target.
Jonatas blocks a jab.
Jonatas misses with a left hand
and Seadragon scores with a counter punch that sends Jonatas to the canvas! Seadragon smells blood - he's punishing Jonatas with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Jonatas has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Leafy Seadragon!
