Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jerry Riggs!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riggs loads up on a big right hand but Sandman slips the punch.
Sandman lands an overhand right.

It looks like Jerry Riggs has been cut.
Riggs looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Sandman avoids the body shot from Riggs.
Riggs cracks Sandman with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Riggs throws a lazy uppercut
and Sandman counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sandman throws a shot from downtown. Riggs moves away and avoids it.
Riggs looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Sandman throws out a loose jab but Riggs uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sandman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Riggs throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sandman misses with a wild body shot.

Sandman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Riggs is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Sandman definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Riggs is not content to let Sandman control the position.

Sandman is nestled in close to Riggs, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Riggs is refusing to be controlled, as Sandman sits in half guard.

Sandman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Riggs does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Sandman thows a huge punch but Riggs dodges it nicely.

Sandman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Sandman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Sandman lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Sandman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sandman drops an elbow to the side of Riggs's head.

Sandman moves nicely into side control.
Sandman cracks Riggs with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Sandman immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Riggs is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Sandman!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mr Sandman!
