Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Poyzan Cloud (ranked 2408 p4p, 2191 weight class) and Kenny Mason (ranked 234 p4p, 220 weight class). Poyzan Cloud has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Poyzan Cloud!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenny Mason!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cloud gets a takedown into half guard.

Cloud is looking for a kimura here.
Mason really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cloud. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cloud prevents Mason from improving his position.
Mason is doing well to control the position and prevent Cloud from advancing to side control.
Mason tries to roll over but Cloud keeps him under control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cloud looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cloud is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mason wants to improve his position but Cloud is controlling well.

Cloud really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mason tries to roll over but Cloud keeps him under control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mason is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Mason makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mason.
Cloud advances position into side control!
Mason is trying to control Cloud's posture but Cloud avoids it.

Cloud is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mason has escaped the position, nice work there.
Mason gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mason keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Cloud is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mason has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Poyzan Cloud dominated that round.
That's time! Cloud's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Cloud moves into range and clinches up with Mason.

Mason pulls guard successfully.
Mason wants to stand but Cloud is controlling the position.
Cloud postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Mason avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Mason working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cloud.
Mason is controlling Cloud's posture.
Mason trying to keep a closed guard but Cloud is proving a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cloud is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mason is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mason has escaped and now he's on top!


Mason stands up and waves to Cloud to follow him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cloud shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mason eats them both and turns towards Cloud to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Cloud moves into the clinch.

Cloud decides to pull guard.

Mason avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Cloud has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mason can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cloud looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Cloud isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mason stacks Cloud on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mason!

Cloud is looking to reverse the position.
Cloud is working hard here to advance position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Cloud sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Mason seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Mason is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Cloud moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mason content to stall in guard here.
Mason is continuing to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Cloud looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Mason looking to pass the guard.

Cloud is looking for a triangle but Mason pushes his legs off easily.

Cloud looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mason showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Cloud has his foot on Mason's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mason works his way back into a safe position though.
Cloud seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Mason avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Cloud is looking to cinch up a triangle. Mason throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Cloud's body to avoid the submission. Cloud has instead reached around Mason's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Cloud arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Poyzan Cloud!
