Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matteo Ruffy (ranked 3771 p4p, 25171 weight class) and Usaa Mera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matteo Ruffy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Usaa Mera! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruffy connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Mera looking to score a takedown here. Ruffy is defending well but Mera drives through and ends up in Ruffy's guard. Mera wants to stand but Ruffy has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Mera postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Mera is looking to stand up but Ruffy won't let him. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mera accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mera postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Mera wanted to stand there but Ruffy had control of the position. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Mera has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Mera working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The crowd cheers as Ruffy lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mera doesn't seem phased though. Mera tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ruffy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mera somewhat. Ruffy scores with a nice head shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mera needs to keep his hands up - Ruffy had a free shot at his head there. Ruffy connects with a crisp jab. Ruffy cracks Mera with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Mera is rocked! Ruffy lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mera at a distance.
Ruffy digs a good body shot into Mera's ribs. Ruffy scores with a jab to the head.
Danga de danga de dang - Ruffy scores with a four punch combination! Mera is still on wobbly legs! Can Ruffy finish him? Ruffy drops Mera with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Mera looks back up at him and smiles so Ruffy waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ruffy lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Mera falls backwards - clearly groggy! Ruffy dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matteo Ruffy!
