Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mathew Nielsen (ranked 3931 p4p, 2670 weight class) and Demien Myasz (ranked 315 p4p, 0 weight class). Demien Myasz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mathew Nielsen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Demien Myasz!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Myasz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nielsen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nielsen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nielsen!

Myasz pushes Nielsen away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Nielsen gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Nielsen decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Myasz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nielsen's half guard.

Myasz throws an elbow that misses. Nielsen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Myasz's guard. Nice move by Nielsen!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Myasz tries to control Nielsen's body but Nielsen pushes him off. Myasz squirms to his side and now Nielsen has his back!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
