Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Maximo Butler (ranked 4378 p4p, 24919 weight class) and Zachery Malone (ranked 216 p4p, 262 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Maximo Butler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zachery Malone!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malone throws a right hand that Butler ducks under and follows up with a left that Butler also avoids with ease.
Malone with a lazy takedown attempt
and Butler counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Malone closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Malone trying to mount his opponent but Butler defends it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Butler wants to improve his position but Malone is controlling well.
Malone seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Malone wants to control but Butler is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Malone darts in looking for a takedown but Butler gets double underhooks and turns Malone into the cage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Malone lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Butler circles away quickly and effectively.

Butler is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Malone shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Butler pinned against the cage. Butler gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Butler is looking for a counter combo.

Malone fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Nice uppercut lands for Butler. That snapped Malone's head back.
Malone shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Butler defends it nicely.

Malone changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Butler looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Malone tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Malone wants to control but Butler is keeping him busy.

Malone is looking to take a break and control but Butler is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Butler is pushing Malone's head away, looking to escape. Malone manages to hold on to the position though.
Zachery Malone has got the better of the ground game so far.
Butler wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Butler wants to control but Malone postures up.
Butler tries to buck Malone off but Malone is having none of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
You can see the frustration on Butler's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Butler is not content to let Malone control the position.
Malone looking to control but instead Butler has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Butler is trying to get back to full guard.
Malone is keen to just control but Butler is a slippery customer.
Butler is trying to maintain the position but Malone is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Malone has closed the distance and engaged Butler in a clinch.
Malone wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Butler has him pressed against the cage.

Butler escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Malone manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Butler on his heels. He'll look to pass Butler's guard now, I'm sure.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Butler pulls Malone in close to his closed guard and prevents Malone from doing any damage or advancing position.
Malone slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Butler is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Malone has his hands clasped together but Butler extends and breaks Malone's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Butler.
