Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Clifton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rick Drew!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drew misses with a kick to the body
and Clifton makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Clifton displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Drew throws out the jab.
Clifton appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Drew throws a nice inside leg kick.
Clifton moves out of range as Drew strikes.
Clifton connects with a good right hand that stumbles Drew. Drew circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It looks like Rick Drew has been cut.
The crowd cheers as Drew lands an impressive looking overhand right. Clifton doesn't seem phased though.
Drew throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Clifton looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Drew feints and then cracks Clifton's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Clifton down.

Clifton cracks Drew with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Drew is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Drew is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rick Drew seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Drew will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Clifton up against the cage.

Clifton is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Drew lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Drew does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

A left lands for Clifton.

Drew throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Clifton on the side of the head.

and Clifton counters with a beautiful hook that drops Drew to the mat! Will Drew be able to recover his senses? The referee starts the count at 3 having sent Clifton to a neutral corner. 4,5,6 and Drew is up. He looks OK to continue.
