Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alonso Franklin (ranked 2253 p4p, 2322 weight class) and Grant Daws (ranked 205 p4p, 212 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alonso Franklin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 10 - 1, fighting out of London, Grant Daws ! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daws has taken the fight to the clinch.
Daws 's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. A right hook to the body lands for Daws .
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Daws creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Franklin tries to pull guard but Daws won't allow it.
Franklin is trying to pull guard but Daws has him pressed against the cage. Daws has Franklin pushed against the cage. Franklin jumps guard but Daws stands there with Franklin around his waist. Franklin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alonso Franklin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Franklin ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Franklin no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Franklin has his foot on Daws 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Daws works his way back into a safe position though. Franklin keeping full guard, as Daws tries to pass. Franklin is looking for a triangle but Daws pushes his legs off easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Franklin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Franklin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Daws doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Daws manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Daws must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Franklin is looking for a triangle but Daws pushes his legs off easily.
Franklin pushes a forearm under Daws 's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Daws is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Alonso Franklin! A very excited looking Alonso Franklin made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
