Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Maciej Piotr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshihiro Akiyama!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piotr ducks under a wild hook from Akiyama.
Piotr lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Piotr's corner calls for a 1-2. Piotr obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Akiyama walks into a jab.
Akiyama takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
The fighters circling - Akiyama throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Piotr works over Akiyama's head and body with a nice combination.
Akiyama moves into the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Akiyama wants a takedown but no success here.
Piotr gets underhooks to prevent Akiyama's takedown attempt.

Maciej Piotr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshihiro Akiyama.
Akiyama wants to take the fight to the mat but Piotr manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Akiyama has Piotr pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Piotr manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Piotr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Piotr cracks Akiyama with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Akiyama falls to his knees and Piotr doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Maciej Piotr!
After the fight, Maciej Piotr was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
