Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Elijah Highlander (ranked 2803 p4p, 3134 weight class) and Akira Kawasaki (ranked 270 p4p, 294 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Elijah Highlander! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Akira Kawasaki! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Steve Montenegro and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kawasaki misses with a looping left. Highlander pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Highlander misses with a hook. Highlander scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Highlander throws a nice looking combination but Kawasaki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kawasaki jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Highlander on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. A slow jab from Kawasaki misses its intended target. A left and a right from Kawasaki both land. Nice combination. Kawasaki lands a nice looking body shot.
Kawasaki works over Highlander's head and body with a nice combination. Kawasaki is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kawasaki jabs Highlander right on the nose. Highlander blinks but takes it well. Highlander avoids a low kick by using good footwork. A little feinted left hand from Highlander on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
That's one minute gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Kawasaki. Highlander does a little dance to reset his feet. Kawasaki throws a lazy uppercut
and Kawasaki takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A big right from Highlander misses. Kawasaki throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Highlander sees it coming and avoids it easily. Kawasaki misses with a right hand and Highlander counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Highlander swings for the body but Kawasaki moves out of range.
Kawasaki rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Highlander connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kawasaki is rocked! Nice shot lands for Highlander. Kawasaki is still on wobbly legs! Can Highlander finish him? Kawasaki scores with the left hand. Highlander knows he should have avoided that one. Kawasaki walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Highlander checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Highlander throws a poor cross that misses
and Highlander takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Kawasaki is looking to slow Highlander down with leg kicks. Kawasaki seems to have recovered his senses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Kawasaki misses with a body kick. Kawasaki scores with a nice strike. Highlander takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Highlander is rocked! Kawasaki drops Highlander with a huge uppercut! Highlander drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Kawasaki is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Akira Kawasaki!
