And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 15 wins and 11 losses; Senger Line! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Chukwuma gets a clinch. Chukwuma is fighting off a takedown attempt but Line is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Chukwuma to the mat. Chukwuma regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Chukwuma (0) vs (2) Line Line sitting in guard here, content to control. Chukwuma can't keep his opponent in guard - Line advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Chukwuma won't allow Line to pass to mount. Line with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Line wants to free his trapped foot but Chukwuma is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Line content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The fighters are battling for position here. Chukwuma manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Chukwuma is adopting a defensive guard. Line passes Chukwuma's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Line seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Line slows the pace down in half guard. It looks like Line might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Chukwuma is trying to control Line's posture but Line avoids it. Chukwuma gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Well, if Line is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Line is looking to work his way around to Chukwuma's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Score +3 for taking back: Chukwuma (0) vs (11) Line Line controls the action. Line's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Line is not going to allow Chukwuma to sit and survive in this position. What can Chukwuma do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
My spies in HELLCADEMY inform me that Line has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Chukwuma trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Line has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Chukwuma's body.
Let's hope that Line has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Line controls the position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! Line wins on points by 11 to 0. An out of breath Senger Line thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career. |
