Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nasty Man (ranked 1404 p4p, 1560 weight class) and Roger Sparr (ranked 181 p4p, 199 weight class). Sparr has chosen OH NO! as his entrance music. Nasty Man has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Nasty Man!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roger Sparr!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man tries to clinch up

and Sparr counters with a nice double leg into side control. Man won't be happy with that.
Sparr throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Man managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Sparr.
Sparr throwing strikes but Man manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Sparr tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Man wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Sparr manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sparr looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Sparr is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Man reverses the position - he's now on top in Sparr's guard.

Sparr trying to keep a closed guard but Man is proving a slippery customer.
Man is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Sparr looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Sparr looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Man would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Sparr is pulling down on Man's head. It's preventing any offense from Man, at least for the moment.
Man has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sparr is proving hard to escape from.

Man is looking to stand up but Sparr won't let him.

Sparr has his foot on Man's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Man works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Man scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Man lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sparr has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sparr and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Man scores with a kick to the midsection.
A jab from Sparr misses.
Man throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sparr throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sparr ducks under a wild hook from Man.
Sparr avoids the body shot from Man.
Man loads up on a big right hand but Sparr slips the punch.
Sparr is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Sparr blocks a low kick nicely.
Sparr misses with a takedown attempt
and Man cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
An inside leg kick lands from Man.

Man throws a looping overhand right but Sparr ducks down to avoid it.
Sparr with the counter takedown but Man avoids it easily.
Sparr punishes Man's body with a nice straight punch.
Man misses with an attempted mid kick.
Sparr tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Man throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Sparr counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Sparr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Man's head.
Sparr prevents Man from improving his position.
Man regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Sparr.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sparr's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Sparr looking to sit in guard and control but Man gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Sparr has his hands on Man's head, controlling the position.
Man looking to pass the guard.
Man has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Sparr looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sparr not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Man sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Sparr isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Man stacks Sparr on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Man!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Man tries to stand but Sparr is controlling his head.
Sparr struggling a bit here.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Sparr is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Man wants to stand up but Sparr has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Sparr is looking for a sweep. Man is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Sparr takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sparr changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Sparr slips under a jab from Man.
Sparr shoots in and drives through. Man sprawls well.
Man misses with a leg kick

and Sparr counters with a nice double leg into side control. Man won't be happy with that.
Man looks to move to half guard but instead Sparr has passed into mount! Damn!
Man is bucking up trying to escape but Sparr cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Man keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Sparr can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Man is looking to escape.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nasty Man dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

That kick from Man tenderised Sparr's leg. Sparr is trying to keep his angry face on.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sparr, as that shot connected.
A telegraphed right hand from Sparr misses the target.
Nasty Man is winning the standup battle so far.
Man takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Sparr misses with a hook
and Man makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Man looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sparr jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Nasty Man is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Sparr feints the counter takedown.
Sparr works the jab nicely.

A big right from Man misses.
Sparr connects with a body shot.
Man connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sparr's hands.
Man scores with a hook to the body. Sparr takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sparr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

It looks like Nasty Man has been cut.
Sparr tries to pass the half guard into mount. Man knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Man is trying to maintain the position but Sparr is very close to passing his half guard.
Sparr thows a huge punch but Man dodges it nicely.
Man is staying active underneath Sparr, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
