This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 33 wins and 14 losses; Yuri Prochazka! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Columbo Gatti and Chad Campbell.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Snake throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Prochazka was covering up waiting for the punch and Snake finishes the takedown easily into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Snake (2) vs (0) Prochazka Snake stands and throws Prochazka's legs to the side, diving into side control. Score +3 for passing guard: Snake (5) vs (0) Prochazka Prochazka is looking to regain half guard here but Snake keeps moving and retains side control. Snake controlling from side mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Prochazka prevents Snake from moving into mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Snake working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Prochazka wants to control but Snake postures up. Snake tries to move into full mount but can't pass Prochazka's legs.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee asks Snake politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Snake prefers to stall for the moment though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Prochazka is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Snake taking a break here but Prochazka is having none of it and regains half guard. Prochazka is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Snake is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Prochazka reverses the position - he's now on top in Snake's guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. Snake tries to improve position but can't. Snake seems a little lost for a moment, as Prochazka dominates the positioning. Snake tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Prochazka wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. You can see the frustration on Snake's face as Prochazka controls the position. Snake is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Snake can't do much from the bottom here. Snake is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Snake looks to move to half guard but instead Prochazka has passed into mount! Damn! Score +2 for reaching mount: Snake (5) vs (7) Prochazka Prochazka prevents Snake from getting the reversal. Snake tries to control Prochazka's body but Prochazka pushes him off. Snake squirms to his side and now Prochazka has his back! Score +3 for taking back: Snake (5) vs (10) Prochazka The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Snake wants to escape the position.
Prochazka slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Prochazka is trying to stick to Snake's back but Snake is turning into Prochazka. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Prochazka's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Snake. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Snake (7) vs (10) Prochazka Prochazka seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Prochazka keeping moving, preventing Snake from controlling successfully. Prochazka is pulling down on Snake's head to control his posture.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Snake not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Prochazka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Snake wants to control from the top but Prochazka keeps moving.

That's ten minutes gone in the round. Snake trying to control the position from guard on top but Prochazka is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Snake is really struggling to control Prochazka but he's trying to hold on to the position. Prochazka working a defensive guard here.
Prochazka bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Snake's guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Snake (7) vs (12) Prochazka Prochazka trying to control but Snake is working from the bottom.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Snake is looking for a triangle but Prochazka pushes his legs off easily.
Snake looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Prochazka puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Snake is looking to control Prochazka's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Snake avoid being mounted? Still in half guard, Prochazka seems content to control.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Prochazka prevents Snake from improving his position. Snake is working hard here to advance position. Snake trying to hold on to Prochazka's head to control him but Prochazka postures up.

Let's hope that Prochazka has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Snake tries to get to full guard but Prochazka has control of the leg. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
