This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 13 wins and 10 losses; Slim Perkins!

Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?
Gomes shoots in looking for a takedown. Perkins tries to sprawl out of it but Gomes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Perkins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gomes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Perkins tries to avoid it but Gomes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Perkins to the ground. Perkins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Perkins feints the counter takedown.
Gomes shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Gomes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gomes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Perkins is fending him off so far but Gomes persists. Nope, Perkins circles away and we're back to standing.
Gomes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Perkins's waist but Perkins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gomes off to one side.
