And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 37 wins and 21 losses; Bob Le Boulder! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Gracie moves into the clinch successfully.
I was talking to Gracie's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Gracie goes for a takedown attempt but Le Boulder pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Gracie rushes Le Boulder and presses him up against the cage. Gracie can't get the takedown.

Le Boulder is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gracie has escaped the position, nice work there. Gracie gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.  That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Le Boulder wants to sweep but no luck. Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Le Boulder is keeping the position for now. Gracie trying to control but Le Boulder is working from the bottom. Le Boulder wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Le Boulder is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Le Boulder is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Le Boulder told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Le Boulder is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gracie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Le Boulder taking a breather here. Gracie is trying to get back to half guard.
 That's eight minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Gracie is trying to improve his position. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Gracie wants to control but Le Boulder postures up. Le Boulder controls the position. Gracie tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Le Boulder wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Gracie struggling a bit here. It looks like Le Boulder might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Gracie gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
 That's ten minutes gone in the round. Le Boulder is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Score +3 for passing guard: Gracie (2) vs (15) Le Boulder Gracie is trying desperately to improve position. Le Boulder wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Le Boulder looking to control and managing it successfully.

Le Boulder wants to finish this one by submission but Gracie is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Le Boulder. Gracie prevents Le Boulder from taking his back.
 That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Gracie tries to lock up and control but Le Boulder gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Le Boulder tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Le Boulder wants to take his opponent's back but Gracie doesn't allow it. Gracie wants to control but Le Boulder is having none of it.
 That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Gracie manages to regain half guard. Good work. Gracie is holding on to half guard well. Le Boulder uses his free foot to push down on Gracie's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gracie.
