Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Victor Melo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JG SCR (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Melo comes to the cage accompanied by Who let the dogs out. Victor Melo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Victor Melo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, JG SCR! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! SCR tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. SCR gets in close and instigates a clinch. SCR manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Melo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
SCR looking to throw knees to the head but Melo is blocking nicely.
SCR breaks from the clinch.
SCR wants to clinch up but Melo keeps it at a distance. Melo could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fight stays on the outside here - SCR looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Melo keeps the fight on the outside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Melo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. SCR closes the distance and clinches. Stalling in the clinch from SCR.

SCR fails in his attempt to clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - SCR looks like he's thinking about clinching though. SCR gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. SCR breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A slow jab from SCR misses its intended target. SCR dips down and scores with a jab to the body. SCR tries to clinch but Melo is having none of it. Melo moves out of range of the body kick. SCR is looking to clinch. SCR thows a body shot but no joy. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! SCR tries to close the distance and clinch but Melo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. SCR misses with a head kick.

Melo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. SCR defends it nicely. SCR tries to close the distance and clinch up but Melo swats him away and circles back towards the center. SCR tries to clinch there but Melo circles away.
Melo swats away the attempt to clinch by SCR. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. SCR drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Melo is looking to regain half guard here but SCR keeps moving and retains side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. SCR tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. SCR decides to stand back up. SCR steps back and let's Melo get back to his feet. SCR tries to close the distance and clinch but Melo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. SCR is looking to clinch. Melo gets caught flat footed, as SCR shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. SCR preventing the sweep. SCR wants to get up but he can't break Melo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. SCR must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. SCR is breathing heavily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Melo trying to keep a closed guard but SCR is proving a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Melo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for SCR! Melo lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. SCR is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Melo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Melo pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. SCR in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Melo wants to control the pace but SCR is squirming around nicely. SCR tries to buck Melo off but he can't manage it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Melo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as SCR is looking to escape. Melo controlling from the full mount. Melo is in the full mount, landing strikes. Melo is going olschool here, as he tries to force SCR to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so SCR shrugs it off. SCR really wants to buck Melo off and get back to his feet. Melo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Melo with the ground and pound from mount. Melo won't let SCR get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Melo lands with some vicious ground and pound - can SCR hang on? Melo lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
