Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mafula Kape (ranked 1490 p4p, 3503 weight class) and Colby Gebhardt (ranked 121 p4p, 221 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mafula Kape!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Colby Gebhardt!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kape avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A jab from Gebhardt misses.
Kape was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Gebhardt connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Gebhardt misses with an uppercut
and Kape counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A jab from Gebhardt misses.
Kape misses with a low kick.
Gebhardt takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Nice defenses there by Gebhardt.
Gebhardt loads up on a big right hand but Kape slips the punch.
Gebhardt throws a poor cross that misses
and Kape counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kape looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gebhardt throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kape stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Gebhardt throws an off balance right hand
and Kape counters with a crisp right hand that drops Gebhardt! Kape lets Gebhardt back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Gebhardt is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gebhardt misses with the body kick
and Kape counters with a slapping leg kick.
Gebhardt is still on wobbly legs! Can Kape finish him?
Gebhardt gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Kape gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mafula Kape!
